The service provides post acute neuro rehab for people with a Sussex GP who have a new diagnosis of acquired brain injury of such complexity that they cannot be managed safely in the community.  The conditions treated by the Consultant led specialist multidisciplinary team includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, GBS, critical illness, neuropathy incomplete, usually non traumatic spinal cord injury, brain tumours, MS relapse and complex amputees from Brighton and Hove area.  It is a short stay unit.
The service does not accept people with functional neurological disorders, those with severe challenging behaviour and progressive neuro degenerative conditions.

Care for Veterans (formerly The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home)
We adopt a multi-disciplinary approach towards the care and rehabilitation of our residents, which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and neuropsychology, as well as social and recreational activities and a chaplaincy service – all delivered from our facilities in Worthing, West Sussex.
Currently, our residents range in age from 32-99 years old, and the majority of those we care for have Acquired Brain Injury or a degenerative neurological condition, such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and Parkinson’s. We accept residents aged 18. Anyone who has served in HM Forces at any time or in any capacity, and also immediate family members of someone who has served in HM Forces, is eligible for admission at Care for Veterans.

The Royal Alex Children’s Hospital in Brighton
Our facilities are family friendly and accessible to children and young people with disabilities. Our hospital has 100 beds in single rooms and spacious four-bed bays, all with en-suite bathrooms. This includes eight high dependency beds, three paediatric intensive care beds, a day care oncology ward and a day care ward for medicine and surgery. Our dedicated paediatric facilities include three operating theatres, 15 outpatient consulting rooms, an on-site x-ray department and our own A&E.

We are a multidisciplinary neuro rehabilitation team for people aged 16 and over who have specific long term neurological conditions.
We also provide an Early Supported Discharge service for patients who have had a stroke. The service is always provided in peoples own homes or in care homes.
